Product that calms and Soothes skin

Do you have sensitive skin and it gets irritated easily? I am pretty sure we all experience irritated skin once in a while and skin revolts or becomes angry. Could be from introducing certain product, change in weather, change in skincare routine or in general you have sensitive skin which causes irritation time to time. Best thing to do give skin a break and let it heal by itself and absolutely stop using any actives. Also there are some products that are good at delivering the calmness that you are looking for. Today’s post is about two of the products that I’ve been using to calm down my skin when they are irritated, or I want to soothe down my skin. They are from Luxury Skincare line Dr. Barbara Sturm

The Calming Serum Contains active, plant based complex, Purslane Extract which is a signature ingredients and an anti-aging powerhouse. Other key ingredients includes Echium Plantagineum, Sunflower Extract, Balloon Vine, Sweet Almond Oil, Glycerin and Panthenol. It promises to soothes and rebalances irritated skin. Purslane helps to calm skin and reduce visible signs of irritation. With continuous use over time over time, this serum strengthens the skin’s natural defenses, minimizing the skin’s sensitized reaction. Perfect for soothing complexion after sun exposure, shaving, sleep loss, jet lag, air conditioning or environmental pollution.

My Experience: This serum carries the signature thick milk like smooth and liquid texture. Skin feels very light and hydrating and absorbed by skin almost instantly. My skin is very sensitive to sun exposure and get agitated easily. I remember I was outdoor for longer time which resulted into redness. Felt like skin was burning with the heat. I applied few drops of this serum and I saw the change in redness after few minutes. Another good thing about this serum is I can use it with other serum and cream and it didn’t cause any conflict. My skin right after or if I am using overnight, next morning I wake up with calmed and soothed skin.

How I have used: After cleansing, I apply on my face. Wait for the serum to absorb before I apply other cream or serum. I have used it in my morning and nightly routine.

The ALOE VERA GEL – I think we all know the benefits and soothing properties of ALoe Vera. This magical succulent has a long history of being used for medicinal purposes, dating back in ancient Egypt. Dt Sturm Aloe Vera Gel formulated using fresh, hand selected and harvested Aloe Vera. Consist of 90% pure organic Aloe leaf juice concentration of Aloe leaf juice (certified by the International Aloe Science Council (IASC), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and IFOAM), to be exact it has 90% Aloe Vera Gel, Purslane and Panthenol (Provitamin B5). You could also use pure Aloe Vera but why this could be a good alternative too if you are thinking of buying would be apart from 90% pure Aloe this formula also contains Purslane, an anti-aging powerhouse which helps to defend skin from attack by free radicals and reduces the visible signs of irritation, as well as Panthenol, which has additional skin soothing benefits. This gel helps support skin regeneration, reduces the appearance of irritation and soothes the skin. The refreshing gel is suitable for daily use on the face and body and is also recommended for use after sunbathing, waxing or epilation to calm and cool the skin.

My Experience: Has cloudy thick, transparent consistency. Right after shower or cleansing my face, I take a small amount and spread on dampen skin. Skin feels hydrated and calm with its natural healing property. I never had any reaction or issue using this gel alone or along with other product. Skin feels soft, supple and burst into hydration right after.
